Volkswagen wants to deal with consumers

German automaker Volkswagen, said the negotiations were made to deal with drivers who sued for manipulation in the exhausts.

“Volkswagen and the German Federation of Consumer Organizations (VZBV) agreed to hold talks on a possible agreement, the company said in a statement.

The statement stated that the negotiations were in the first stage and that there was no guarantee for the agreement and that both sides agreed to keep the negotiations confidential.

In October 2018, Volkswagen in Germany was sued by the German Federation of Consumer Organizations and the German Automobile Club (ADAC) on behalf of the drivers for the manipulation of automobile exhausts.

A 444 thousand German drivers applied to participate in the case.

In September 2015, the US Environmental Protection Agency announced that Volkswagen manipulated its emissions tests and that the company's diesel vehicles pollute the environment 40 times above normal.

Volkswagen Group, which includes brands such as Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Bentley, Lamborghini, Seat, Skoda, Bugatti, Scania and Man, has occupied the agenda with the diesel emission scandal for a long time, paid high penalties to US and German authorities and had to recall millions of vehicles.

Around 11 million diesel-powered vehicles around the world to use misleading software in the emission tests of Volkswagen, the US court was sentenced to a large amount of fines. In Germany, the public prosecutor's office in Braunschweig launched an investigation into the company.
