Maserati was born in Bologna in 1914 with the company "Società Anonima Officine Alfieri Maserati" founded by Alfieri Maserati and his brothers.

The Maserati brothers, who produced the first car with the famous Tridente logo in 1929, inspired by the Fountain of Neptune, incorporated the Orsi family into their company 10 years later and became the new headquarters of the brand Modena.

In 1940, Viale Ciro Menotti factory was commissioned for Maserati, which continued its research and innovation investments in order to become a world-renowned automobile brand. In 1947, the first road car A6 1500 was produced.

In 1963, Maserati entered the high-performance luxury sedan class with Quattroporte. Citroen in 1967-1975 and De Tomaso between 1976 and 1993, the brand continued to produce automobiles, the best-selling vehicles in this period, Biturbo'yu presented to the world stage.

Maserati, which was incorporated in Fiat in 1993, was connected to Ferrari in September 1997 and in 1998 it launched its 3200 GT model. The brand entered the US market in 2001 with Spyder and achieved great success.

In 2005, Maserati rejoined Fiat and introduced the 5th generation Quattroporte at the 2007 Detroit Motor Show. This automatic transmission model has been an important step towards growth, especially in markets such as the United States, Japan and the Middle East. In the same year, the GranTurismo, a landmark in brand history, was introduced at the Geneva International Motor Show.

GranCabrio was back on stage in 2009, followed by a series of model innovations. While the 6th generation Quattroporte was introduced at the Detroit Auto Show in 2013, Ghibli at the Shanghai Auto Show in the same year and Levante, the first SUV model of the brand at the Geneva Auto Show in 2016, attracted the attention.
