Volvo gears up for electric car

Explaining its targets for the year 2019, Volvo has announced that every new Volvo vehicle from the upcoming year will be either a hybrid, convertible hybrid or fully electric. Company CEO Håkan Samuelsson announced the goals for 2025.



Samuelsson said that by the year 2025, half of his sales would be full electric, Samuelsson said, "We have had some commitments as a preparation for a turn ahead of the internal combustion engine last year, and today we are strengthening and expanding our commitment to the electric car." said.

Volvo is rerouting the Polestar performance brand as an independent series focusing on electric cars. The company will offer a total of 5 full-electric automobiles under the Volvo brand, 3 under the Polestar brand, and 2 under the Polestar brand, between 2019 and 2021. Volvo, which does not yet have a full electric car, will be on the market for the first full electric vehicle next year.
